This week we will be looking at a specific section in Chapter 12 of our text. Open the file and read the section titled, "Multimedia on the Web" Once you are done reading, look over this wiki space page and complete all other assignments.

Web 2.0
At its earliest stages the web was considered to be "read-only". A web where users would simply search information and read it. This was referred to as web 1.0. But things have changed to a web where users can interact, collaborate and add content to pages. To learn more about web 2.0, watch the following videos.

Think about what you have just watched and be sure to answer the questions found on the quiz. To access the quiz click here!

Tools for the World Wide Web

A tag is a HTML formatting element defined as a command inserted in a document that specifies how the document, or a portion of the document, should be formatted. Look over the following images to see how tags are written and what they can mean.

Web Servers

A web server is a program that fulfills client requests in regards to web pages. Let me give you a scenario so you can better understand. You sit down on your couch with your laptop and open up Google Chrome. You type in the web address to your favorite social networking site. You, the client, are requesting to access a certain web page. The web server "sees" this request and fulfills it by directing you to the page.

If you are still confused, don't worry! This short video should clear up any confusion!
